I am using switchbox industrial for my first time and I am trying to use aries softwear but when I am trying to read the botblox device its telling me unkown board what can I do ?
I have a laptop connected with an ftdi cable to the switch.
Let’s start with a few debugging questions.
What is the part number of the board you are using. You’ll find this printed at the top of the board (see image below). Bear in mind that ARIES only runs on revision B (BB-SWI-B-1) and above.
What is the exact part number or model of the cable you are using? It should be a USB to UART converter.
Have you ensured that you connected the ground of your cable to the ground of SwitchBlox Industrial?
Are you sure Tx and Rx are wired up correctly (Tx on cable must go to Rx on board, and vice versa)?
Have you followed the fault-finding steps outlined in the link below, including installing NI-VISA.

When you connect your cable to your laptop, do you see the COM port come up in device manager? Do you use that same COM port in ARIES?
Finally, what voltage are you using to power the board?
