Where did BB-GGB-C-1 go, can I still order it?

Our latest revision of this board is BB-GGB-C-CO2, which is the upgraded version of BB-GGB-C-1. Please see the table below for the revision changes.

There are two changes between BB-GGB-C-1 and BB-GGB-C-CO2.

Change 1: We added an LED header to the back of the board. This allows the LED signals to be taken off-board.

Change 2: We added small test points to the board to improve manufacturing QA.

None of these changes affect the functionality of the product, it is completely backwards compatible. The only mechanical difference is the addition of the LED header on the bottom of the board. You can find 3D of both versions of the board at the link below.

We will never make a revision that is not backwards compatible (unless something really drastic happens like a major chip we use is EOL, and that’s quite unlikely because we use active and relatively new silicon). And if/when we do EOL something (we’ve haven’t done that in our entire existence), we would (a) have similar/redundant alternatives or (b) we would release an equivalent board with similar functionality.

A good example of this is the SwitchBlox and SwitchBlox Rugged. Both of boards are essentially 5 port ethernet switches, with varying degrees of environmental ruggedness, and they are size, mounting hole, and connector location compatible.
