Gigastax Rugged firmware

Hi, I’ve seen the blogpost about Gigastax rugged updated firmware. It states that the sources for the FW are available under NDA. Will there be a publicly downloadable binary file to upload without signing an NDA? Would the new firmware work on older Gigastax Rugged boards?

Hi,

To answer both of your questions.

  1. Only newer versions of GigaStax Rugged have a microcontroller onboard, so only those can run the firmware. We’ll be flashing the firmware fix at the factory from now on.

  2. Customers who have a newer version without the firmware can reach out if they need the firmware, but we probably won’t release it publically in case (a) it changes regularly and (b) it tends to confuse people.
