We are using Gigablox eth switches. I was wondering if there is any harm or if there is any protection if ethernet port gets connected to active PoE that supplies Power of 56V all the time?

GigaBlox uses transformers that provide full galvanic isolation between the ethernet ports and the internal circuitry in the device.
As such, putting PoE voltage of 56V onto the port of GigaBlox will not cause any damage to the board. GigaBlox cannot be powered this way, but the 56V on a GigaBlox port will simply not do anything.
