Do I have to use the serial port on DroneNet?

We have received DroneNet and looked at the instructions from Trigde.

I have a few questions:

  • Why does a serial port also have to be connected and not just CAN?
  • Can the serial port on the DroneNet board be used as a serial port?
  • we didn’t really want to use serial ports as we already have too few.
