Hello,

My team and I are working with a Ubiswitch and we’re curious if there is a command we can run in the UART shell to verify that there is an active link between a switches port and the device. We are also interested in reading the speed that each port is operating at.

If there is no command implemented in the latest firmware build, can you please provide some assistance for how we can pull this data?

At the moment, there is no way to show PHY status in BloxOsLite CLI yet (there are commands for editing the non-volatile configuration and changing PHY autonegotiation parameters, see [here](https://botblox.notion.site/MAC-and-PHY-status-control-fdb543a902374345b10c1a5254666017#14f0ca7860eb80b29ed4c825e5e7f693)).

This is a major feature that is missing, and it is very much on my to-do list for the upcoming releases later this year.

I think what could be useful would be allowing to send custom commands via CLI (accessing and writing selected registers). That would make it faster for clients to test things out (provided they have access to the register map).

Hi Aaron,

I appreciate the reply. Do you have an expected timeline for when these features will be implemented? These features are a pending requirement for our applications.

> Yes, thank you, I’m working on this and will release it soon. I know it’s taking a while and you all need these features - I am working flat out to deliver! Included will be a PHY link status and link control (I’m making the distinction between disabling port forwarding and PHY link very clear). Also included will be generic MDIO read/write for those who want to debug. I will stress that, ideally, customers only use that for testing and trying out features not yet implemented in a CLI command i…
